And if one day you got bored and you said,
“Today I’m not me, I’m a lion instead”
Even if I’d never heard it before, I’d know
It was you by the sound of your roar
(excerpt from Nancy Tillman’s “I’d Know You Anywhere, My Love”)
Emmett and Ella gave me their most impressive roars as they imitate their favorite lion. Needless to say, warming up to the camera wasn’t an issue for these siblings. In fact, Ella loved getting really close to my camera to get a better look of the cute bunny (stuffed animal) sitting on my lens. 🙂
I always tell parents that I love capturing kids being kids and documenting their full energy. That doesn’t mean things go out of hand, however. I always have activities that kids can engage in (i.e. ring around the rosie) that result in fun, beautiful images while providing a stress-free experience for parents. 🙂 We have quiet moments, too, such as when Emmett handed Ella a fresh flower. *melt*
Emmett, you’re the older, more mature sibling who is already great at modeling good behavior, showing compassion, and looking out for your baby sister. Your parents must be so proud of you! Ella, you’re packed with energy and have a wonderful sense of adventure. Never run out of steam or laughter. May you both always be the reasons for your parents’ pride and joy!
