Perhaps more valuable than one’s degree is the friendships we make in college. I’ve always believed that my success isn’t measured by the alphabets that follow my name, but by the people who stand by me.
I label myself a private introvert and professional extrovert. That is, I love a people-centered career where I get to help and serve others. However, I do not enjoy big parties or crowds. I thrive with one-on-one communications. Thus, my college experience never included sororities or big group hangouts. While I have formed many deep friendships, I do sometimes feel I missed out by not being part of a bigger group or community. When Antonia, Sara, and Kelly showed up for their graduation portraits, I could at once see the college experience I never had. While they are individually stunning, there’s a clear transformation in their group interactions. They become more relaxed, emboldened, and laughed a little harder. As I took their photos, I could clearly see how, years down the road, they would become each other’s bridesmaids. 🙂
Antonia, Sara, and Kelly – you three are a dynamic, energetic, and fun trio! I had a blast capturing your friendship and bond. Congratulations on your graduation and though your paths may diverge, I hope your friendship always remains strong!
