A romantic stroll through the park on a breezy morning with lots of sunshine. That’s the vision Kira and Xin had in mind for their portrait session. I typically book sessions during golden hour for its flattering light, but when schedules don’t align, I do absolutely love the challenge of finding the right light during midday sun. It’s an exciting quest that renders new angles and perspectives. The adventure is more fun when you have such a loving couple to photograph! Throughout their portrait session, Kira and Xin captivated me with this quiet understanding and mutual respect they have for one another. In fact, right at the start of our session while I was setting my gears, Xin thoughtfully applied sunscreen for Kira. I teasingly told them that Xin definitely would need to be the protector today and shield Kira from the sun. (And yes, that’s a real technique photographers use – body blocking – to combat harsh lighting). ☀️
Kira and Xin – thank you so much for trusting me to bring your vision to life! I can’t wait to share the full gallery with you. Congratulations again on your nuptials! I hope you have fun adventures abroad when the calendar of an academic allows for an extended break.
