Winter months are typically off season for photographers, especially during these COVID times when I’ve been strict about not booking in-home/indoor sessions. However, I’ve stayed very busy behind-the-scenes:

Every winter, I prioritize learning a new skill. Sometimes, it’s taking a business course. Or a niche photography course – such as improving off camera flash techniques. This winter, I wanted to learn how to transform photographs into works of art with a painterly edit. I love displaying art in my home, but I want unique, personalized pieces that can’t be purchased elsewhere. I want these walls to tell the story of us. Framed photographs don’t quite fit the bill because I feel they get outdated after the children grow up. However, a museum-grade canvas of an artistic moment in our lives? That feels timeless to me. No matter how old the kids grow, I can always look at an artistic depiction of us as a wall art that stands the test of time.
