Emily has a very strong sense of community and thrived at Penn State partly because she can create community wherever she goes. One of her fondest college memories was its early days when the College of Materials Science and Engineering hosted a pre-orientation program. There, she was able to build connections will fellow incoming students and later became a mentor for new students. Emily’s strong emphasis on building community doesn’t just stop at Penn State. She desires to preserve communities at the global level through environmental remediation work. I think this is such an important effort and noble career choice. Kudos to you, Emily!
I had so much fun photographing Emily. We kept laughing how she still towers over me despite my standing on top of a step stool. But for every bit tall she is, she’s equally graceful. In my five years of photography, I have never had such an elegant cap toss that took only one take. You can immediately tell that she has a dance background, non? Enjoy these photos!
