They say show me your closest friends and I can tell you your character. (Or did I just make that up?) Seeing how her roommate treats her tells me everything I need to know about Nicole. She is kind. She is supportive. She is patient. You see, when Nicole and I reached the Penn State sign, we were greeted with a really, really long line. Nicole immediately contacted her roommate to see if she can line up for us so we can spend that time photographing at another location instead of just standing in line. Her roommate readily agreed and waited an hour on our behalf. That’s a true friend. (Cue: I’ll be there for you.) And it’s a beautiful reflection on Nicole’s character to have such a dear friend.
The moment I drove up to Old Main, rain started to pour. Needless to say, we rescheduled our session. With it being finals week and I was booked everyday, Nicole and I settled on a morning session. I knew the harsh lighting will present some challenges. But the session turned out perfect. We were able to work with the light and the huge crowd. Nicole yearns to reside in Florida one day, and I think this photoshoot represents that future well. 🙂 Sun-kissed skin and wind-blown hair to celebrate a momentous occasion!
It’s always my goal to not get stuck in a creative rut and to not fall into a monotonous pattern with graduate photoshoots night after night. Nicole made it so easy to have fun, find new angles and locations, and embrace spontaneity. ❤️
Nicole, congrats again on your incredible achievement at Penn State! I still can’t believe you’re already embarking on your next journey to become a PA. You’ll do amazing!!
