These two met in prison. Yup. True story. They both work there and met at work. ?
Ah, I love being able to get to know and photograph my couples in their own home. (Thanks, Pfizer!) There’s a level of intimacy you can’t quite achieve elsewhere. Kim & Ken wanted a “simple, carefree” engagement session. Our first location was in front of their fireplace, where the wall was decorated with a “This is Us” sign. What a fitting description for this photoshoot.
They recently purchased their dream home in January. This was also where Ken proposed. So naturally, we had to have engagement photos taken here! They really made my literati heart so happy when they wanted to feature their home library. Ernest Hemingway. Dracula. Ayn Rand. All the classics. AND a DSM-5 manual. My psychologist heart was tickled. 😛
To celebrate, Ken popped a champagne bottle that was especially gifted to them by Kim’s aunt. We also got to hang out in their backyard, on the hammock, and play with their dog in the garden. It was such a lovely afternoon spent with the most darling couple. Also, it hit me as I was driving home who Kim reminds me of… Mandy Moore!
