This is Sarah, my next-door neighbor. Sarah always puts others first. If the light goes out in our neighborhood but her house happens to be on a better circuit, she’d open up her home for anyone who needs heat, hot water, etc. When she found out that we’re building a patio, she immediately offered home magazines featuring outdoor spaces to inspire our backyard design. When I needed a neighbor to watch my boys so I could go get my vaccine, Sarah volunteered in a heartbeat. I can go on and on about how thoughtful Sarah is. And she always understands when we commiserate about having a husband who works late night hours at the hospital. 😛
Ben works as an ICU physician and handled many cases in the COVID unit. (He made multiple TV appearances as well.) During the height of the pandemic, Sarah and I would exchange concerned texts about the state of our community, the nature of our husbands’ jobs and potential risks for exposure. Fortunately, we are now on the other side of the pandemic. Even better, Sarah has been growing a healthy baby throughout this time. What a remarkable, strong family, to not only survive COVID, but also thrive and expand. 🙂
When Sarah and Ben moved in a couple months after us, I thought how lucky they’re also a young family like us. It is amazing to see how well our kids get along and to see Elon growing before our eyes. He is going to be a wonderful big brother! He’s getting in some practice by being five months older than Khang. 😛
This maternity session means so much to me because of the people I was photographing, and also because of the vision Sarah has in mind. That flowy dress flying in the wind. A water reflection at the pier. A walk in the forest. Most importantly, the bond and love these people already share with their newest family member, whom they haven’t even met. I am so excited to meet baby R, hopefully by the end of the month! ❤️
