Fulfilling all of their wildest dreams, Kysesen and Adam said “I do” to forever while lakeside at Bald Eagle State Park Nature Inn! Standing atop rolling green hills, the couple took their first steps together as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson (🙌) with the most beautiful lush backdrop and perfect sunny weather (despite the original forecast for rain).
Wanting their love for nature and for one another to be central to their big day, the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle was the perfect spot for this sweet couple. Kysesen wanted to keep things simple with white roses, votive candles, and minimal wedding decor to highlight the natural beauty of the venue. For dinner, guests were treated to several food stations – think gourmet mac n’ cheese with chefs cooking the dish right in front of you! The fire pit also became a cozy spot for guests to mingle around and have fireside conversations.
Kysesen also wanted the focus of the day to be on the people they love and care about so much that were attending. Due to the pandemic, there were so many people they were seeing/meeting for the first time since March 2020. In the main room, there was even a memorial table set up to honor some very important people that were there with the special couple in spirit. The bride’s father passed away in 2020, but his presence was felt all around that day. Kysesen actually carried her late father’s handkerchief throughout their wedding, and even lent it to Adam to freshen up from the heat at one point.
Not only were the details of the day beautiful and meaningful, but there were so many emotional moments that Kysesen and Adam shared that truly made their wedding so special.
Starting off, the bride got ready at her best friend’s Monarch Salon (who also did her hair and makeup for the special occasion). When it was time for Kysesen’s mom to help her get into her dress, we all teared up. Kysesen and Paula, the bond you two share is so special to witness and I shook with goosebumps during the mother-daughter dance at the reception.
When it was time for the first look, the groom *bawled* when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time (I mean, how could you not – she was stunning!). And while the groom tried to control his emotions when saying their vows, he teared up once again. At this point, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. The joy and unbridled emotions throughout the day were deeply felt by every guest in attendance – myself included!
Adam and Kysesen – It was truly such an honor to photograph your wedding and get to witness such pure love! Many, many congratulations to you both! And Kysesen, you were born to be a bride! Francesca is a perfect bride-in-training, too! Haha. I love how sweetly you danced together and how you’re already teaching her all about female empowerment.
